BOB WYSOCKI – POST-METAL

New York-based artist Bob Wysocki created a site specific installation for Flight 19 utilizing 100,000 pounds of pristine sand mined from an ancient Central Florida sand dune and the simultaneously erosive and constructive force of electric fan-generated wind power. The resulting sand mass on the gallery floor recalled the conceptual, minimal and temporal earthworks of the 1970’s. Wysocki’s crescent shaped dune, like those in nature, was in continuous movement and shape-shifted within the confines of the architectural space – assuring viewers of a unique visual experience with each visit.
